Carpenters build free libraries for HV communities

Some 20 apprentices from North Atlantic States Regional Council of Carpenters Local 279 designed and built Little Free Library book-sharing boxes and bases at their Rock Tavern Training Center. The project was developed by State Sen. James Skoufis and the boxes were painted and decorated with literary scenes by local students and community volunteers to be placed at six locations in the 39th District. At top, Matt Ross, Local 279 Council Representative explains how this was an especially rewarding experience.

Bill Banfield, Assist. Exec. Secretary Treasurer of the Council and State Sen. James Skoufis explain how the project gives back to the community.
