Safety Deserves Recognition

The Safety Awards of CCA SMACNA, and FERCA will recognize the contractors, unions, educators, and industry professionals helping to build a stronger culture of safety across the Hudson Valley construction industry.

Winners will be honored at our annual Holiday Dinner in December.

Award Categories

Three ways to recognize outstanding commitment to safety in the Hudson Valley:

Golden Hard Hat Award

Dedicated to an individual who has worked with a focus within their company to promote safety in the workplace, establish a culture of safety amongst workers, and whose actions may have saved a life, prevented loss of property or found an innovative way to advance safety on the job site. This can go to a member of a Union or a Project Manager, or Safety Personnel.

Award:

  • Golden Hard Hat
  • $500 gift card to the individual
  • name on list at the CCA office.

Hudson Valley Safe Contractor Award

This award is given to the contractor of the Hudson Valley who has the lowest EMR, ties will be broken by the Contractor with the highest volume of work performed in the same year.

Award:

  • Trophy
  • Name of company listed at the office
  • Video of the company and why they were chosen (that they can keep and use)

Education in Safety Award

This shall be given to a union, contractor, or organization who has played a major role in advancing the mission of construction site safety in the Hudson Valley.

Award:

  • $1500 grant towards their mission to support safety.

Criteria: Must be a member of the CCA, SMACNA, FERCA, a member of a construction union bargained with the CCA, FERCA, or SMACNA or an affiliate of a member to the Three association. The Education in Safety Award can be awarded to a school, BOCES, College, or Union Apprenticeship program that is working to establish or continue a deep commitment to safety on in construction. The Safety Committee will review and make recommendations for award in the Fall of 2026.
